Terms of Employment: 10 months/ 183 days per year. Salary is at Instructional Support Pay Grade IS3 on the EISD Compensation Plan. Annual salary range is $17,925 - $21,603, based upon directly related experience.
Primary Purpose:
Responsible for student supervision in school commons along with halls, delivery of student messages, attendance summons, campus cleanup, lunchroom supervision, attendance detention monitoring, and hall monitoring.
NOTE: Applicant must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by applicant.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
- Associates degree or higher from an accredited college/university, preferred
- High School Diploma or Accredited General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Minimum of forty-eight (48) semester college hours from an accredited college/university; or
- Passed the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) test; or
- Hold No Child Left Behind (NCLB) certificate
Experience:
- Experience as classroom aide or working with teenage students.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships
- Ability to relate to students in a manner to elicit their cooperation
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out instructions
- Ability to exercise mature judgment in controlling student behavior
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and adapt to a variety of situations.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serves as monitor of student attendance, behavior, and movement.
- Monitors halls, lunchroom and entire building for rules compliance.
- Communicates with appropriate staff on attendance and behavior issues or concerns.
- Refers chemical and other concerns to administrators in a timely fashion.
- Assists and cooperates with rotational coverage with other student supervisors.
- Maintains study hall policies on attendance, food, and drink, behavior, passes and study environment.
- Maintains accurate records as required.
- Checks student bathroom and other areas for smokers.
- Assists on the search of vehicles when requested and supervised by an Administrator.
- Other duties as assigned or apparent.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
