Terms of Employment:
Salary is at the Auxiliray Pay Plan Aux1 on the EISD Compensation Plan. Entry level rate of pay is $10.50/hour with additional consideration based upon directly related experience. Appoximately two hours a day.
Primary Purpose:
To assist in monitoring students in the cafeteria during lunch periods and in the classroom.
Note: Applicant must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the applicant, before continuing within the process towards possible employment.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or regional accrediting agency), preferred
Experience:
- Previous experience with students, preferred
- Good Communications Skills
- Able to read and write
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages students during meal service (behavior problems will be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by the individual school site).
- Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten assisting students who need assistance.
- Encourage good table manners.
- Monitors students in the classroom and other instructional settings.
Mental/Physical/Environmental Factors:
Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to clean assigned area; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; ability to move around cafeteria and to bend and stoop. The noise level in the
work environment is usually moderate to loud.
