Terms of Employment: 10 months/ 183 days per year. Salary is at Instructional Support Pay Grade IS3 on the EISD Compensation Plan. Entry level rate of pay is $13.06/hour with additional consideration based upon directly related experience.
Primary Purpose:
Supervise and maintain computer laboratory by providing students with effective reading/learning skills they need for classroom problem learning.
NOTE: Applicant must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by applicant.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency)
- Forty-eight (48) semester college hours from an accredited college or university
- Eligible to obtain a Paraprofessional certificate issued by the State Board of Educator Certification
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist students and teachers with proper operation of the laboratory equipment.
- Provide accurate and timely reports for teachers to use in making data driven decisions for student improvement.
- Ensure that the software is functioning and maintained in operable condition.
- Prepare laboratory schedules to ensure maximum participation.
- Establish and maintain computerized database, including spreadsheets and student folders.
- Participate in inservice training, programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as needed.
- Customize student activities based on the Pre-Post test assessment from the management system.
- Assist teachers to ensure to program functions according to guidelines.
- Ensure that students are enrolled in the computer system according to the levels and courses designated by the classroom teacher.
- Maintain an attractive and orderly laboratory conducive to learning.
- Assist in providing reports (i.e. course, grouping, gains, and prescriptive scheduling reports) weekly and at the end of the nine week period.
- Work with classroom teachers to create a positive and effective learning environment in the laboratory.
- Ensure confidentiality of information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
