Terms of Employment: 12 months/ 234 days per year. Entry level rate of pay is $10.50/hour with additional consideration based upon directly related experience.
Primary Pupose:
Maintains a clean and healthy school/office environment for students and staff. Submits work order requests to appropriate department. Works with campus or department to meet school or office needs.
NOTE: Applicant must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by applicant.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency), preferred
Experience:
- One (1) year custodial experience, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Ability to operation cleaning equipment and lift and use heavy equipment
- Ability to use proper handling and use of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Able to read and write and complete simple forms
- Must have the ability to use the following equipment Vacuums, Buffers, Ladders, and associated janitorial tools
- Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper use
- Must have good written & communication skills
- Must be able to read and write directions and complete forms and reports
- Must be able to safely carry minimum of 45 pounds a least 75 feet without assistance.
Major Responsibilities and Dutites:
- Use proper methods to clean inside and outside of District sites which includes floors, carpets, walls, windows, ceilings, patios and bathrooms.
- Determines supplies and re-order levels.
- Use proper methods to move equipment, furniture and supplies up to (50) fifty pounds.
- Use proper safety methods to work and clean and use of protective equipment.
- Assist with maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and keeping District sites furnished at all times.
- Follow proper site security requirements for locking, checking and safeguarding facilities.
- Assist with special projects as requested by District.
- Assist with campus set-up to include arranging tables, chairs, moving furniture or equipment as requested by campus or department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
