Primary Purpose:

 

Under administrative direction, the Social Media and Marketing Analyst is responsible for enhancing the district’s presence on web platforms, social media and overall visibility in the community through the use of technology. This role will handle content creation, develop brand awareness, monitor social channels, and promote social engagement with the community. The Social Media and Marketing Analyst supports the mission of the district, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating a social media referral network.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree from accredited university (required)

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Strong knowledge of social media solutions and services, and how they can be deployed in different scenarios.

Strong knowledge of social media tools and their best practices.

Good knowledge of blogging.

Experience with digital photography.

Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Suite of products are a plus.

Ability to interpret and explain policies and procedure.

Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format.

Ability to facilitate meetings with little or no oversight and have outstanding follow up.

Excellent problem-solving skills and team-building.

 

Experience:

3 plus years in social/digital media strategy

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Monitors the web and social media platforms and identifies innovative opportunities to engage our constituents and audience.
  • Represents the district professionally and ethically to internal and external clients.
  • Manages social media campaigns and day-to-day activities, to include: online advocacy, writing content, promotions, and awareness.
  • Drives consistent and relevant traffic from our social network presence to the districts website.
  • Generate relevant content for web and social media platforms including: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google, and others.
  • Represents the district at networking events, after-hour community engagements and other related opportunities in a professional and effective manner.
  • Maintains contact with community and departments to communicate feedback and conversation surrounding the district.
  • Monitors trends in social media tools and applications.
  • Plan, organize and execute multiple projects with timelessness and accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, community members, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public.
  • Must maintain regular consistent and professional attendance.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Mental Demands

Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written); interpret policy, procedures and data; coordinate district functions; maintain emotional control under stress.

 

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

Occasional district-wide travel and occasional statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Extended work hours during evening or on weekends.
