Primary Purpose: Actively seek funding to meet district needs, lead the development of grant applications, provide technical assistance for implementation of funded projects, and ensure compliance with all grant requirements.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited education university (Master’s Degree preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong writing skills and editing
- Experience in administering funded projects
- Strong knowledge of community and business contracts
- Strong communication, public relations, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Federal, State and local rules and regulations concerning grants
- Knowledge of trends, processes, and ethics in grant writing
- Ability to analyze complex information and synthesize into readable, persuasive written material and meet established deadlines
- Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing
Experience:
Two years of grant related experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Grant Preparation
Research and identify grant opportunities and other funding sources and prepare grant applications and other associated materials according to required format. Maintain and report data outlining grants, located, sought, and funded
Meet deadlines for preparation and submission of grant applications and grant-related reports as necessary to comply with grant requirements.
Technical Support
Review guidelines for eligibility requirements, disseminate information, and explain grant restrictions, regulations, priorities, and deadlines to administrators and staff.
Participate in professional development activities as required by the District
Provide technical assistance and train staff to draft project proposals and reports, including the writing and development of program goals and objectives, budget, and interpretation of specifications for grant funding.
Policy, Reports, and Law
Maintain master files on grants, including a database to track and report all grant activities within the district. Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documents as required.
Monitor grant-funded programs and associated expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
